Why Choose Cremation

While burial is still the most popular in Ireland, cremation figures have been on the rise over the past number of years. We would like to make this option more accessible for people living in the west of Ireland and are finally happy to open our own crematorium.

Your final resting place can be anywhere you or your family choose and you can take your time to decide this important decision. There have never been so many choices for interesting and comforting things to do with your ashes. Choices would include burial in a family grave, scattering the ash in a meaningful location, interment in a columbarium wall (Many locations around the country), keeping the ashes in a decorative vase or ornament or even sending a portion to space!

With funerals in Ireland having such a quick turn around typically, we like to remind our families that there is always time to slow down the process if they would like. We find that having that time after the funeral to decide what they would like to do with their loved ones ashes if not specified before is such a huge help in their grieving process.

Typically, after the cremation service has taken place, the family will then leave the service room and go for something to eat. We would then need 4-5 working days to then have your ashes prepared and ready for collection. You can then discuss all options of committal types and suitable urns with one our death care professionals. We will always try and best advise you on urn choice depending on what your plans are for committal.
